How You Will Make An Impact
- Review investment accounting system outputs and confirm the proper accounting treatment of fixed income securities across multiple accounting bases.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, income allocations, asset allocations, and pricing analysis.
- Investigate accounting exceptions, reconciliation differences, and system-generated discrepancies through resolution.
- Perform applicable SOX controls and maintain appropriate documentation for assigned accounting processes.
- Support internal and external reporting under U.S. GAAP and U.S. statutory accounting requirements.
- Research accounting guidance and evaluate how new or existing requirements affect investment accounting processes.
- Assess current workflows, identify control or process gaps, and recommend practical improvements.
- Bring structure to complex or ambiguous accounting issues and translate findings into actionable solutions.
- Anticipate potential accounting or reporting concerns and support contingency planning.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, investment, and reporting partners to meet critical close deadlines.
Do You Bring Proven Success in Fixed Income Investment Accounting?
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related discipline.
- Two to five years of accounting or finance experience, preferably involving investments, financial services, or insurance.
- CPA or another relevant accounting or finance certification.
- Experience supporting monthly and quarterly accounting close processes.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; statutory accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience reviewing account reconciliations and resolving accounting exceptions.
- Understanding of journal entries, financial reporting, internal controls, and SOX-compliant processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and broader Microsoft Office skills; experience using Microsoft Copilot is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments against firm deadlines.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to investigate complex accounting issues.
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to navigate differing priorities and resolve conflicts constructively.
