This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead significant municipal water and wastewater projects across Tennessee and neighboring states. You will act as both a technical expert and a project manager, collaborating with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and leadership to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. The position provides visibility into large-scale infrastructure initiatives and the ability to directly influence community development through essential utility projects.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead the planning, design, construction administration, and start-up phases for municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery of services.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables such as calculations, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and reports.
  • Apply industry standards and best practices to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Conduct quality assurance/quality control reviews of formal project documentation.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing technical expertise and responsive communication.
  • Support business development through proposal preparation and participation in client presentations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on workload planning, staffing, and long-term project strategy.

Do You Have the Expertise to Lead in Water and Wastewater Engineering?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (required).
  • 15+ years of experience in municipal or industrial water and wastewater systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee required; additional licensure in Alabama, Georgia, or South Carolina preferred.
  • Proven experience in water and wastewater treatment plant design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Local candidate or willingness to relocate to Nashville, TN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.
  • 20+ years of professional experience in the field.
  • Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods.
  • Active involvement in professional and industry associations.
