How You Will Make An Impact
- Lead and support site/civil design work across commercial, public, institutional, parks and recreation, and land development projects.
- Produce and oversee civil plans, grading, site layout, drainage, stormwater, erosion control, sediment control, and infrastructure design.
- Support projects ranging from compact commercial sites to larger public facility, parks, trails, and recreation developments.
- Prepare and review stormwater reports, hydrology and hydraulic calculations, SWPPP documents, civil plans, and technical reports.
- Help mentor and develop younger civil engineering talent while building a collaborative technical culture.
- Coordinate with clients, internal design teams, contractors, permitting teams, government agencies, DOT representatives, and local jurisdictions.
- Support permitting, entitlement, as-builts, platting, and project closeout activities.
- Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure plans and reports are accurate, constructible, and aligned with applicable requirements.
- Contribute to proposals, client meetings, relationship-building, and pursuit efforts as the Charlotte practice continues to grow.

Are you an experienced site/civil professional ready to help build and lead a growing practice?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred; other engineering degrees may be considered with strong site/civil experience.
- 6+ years of site/civil experience preferred; strong PE-track or licensed candidates with slightly less experience may be considered.
- PE license strongly preferred; NC or SC PE is ideal, but an out-of-state PE with ability to obtain reciprocity may be considered.
- Experience with site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater, infrastructure, erosion control, and sediment control.
- Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
- Experience with stormwater design tools, hydrology/hydraulics, and report preparation.
- Familiarity with local/state permitting and agency coordination; North Carolina experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers, review work, and help establish technical standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability or potential to interact with clients, agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
