Site Reliability Engineer, Storage (Enterprise Technology)

A leading quantitative trading firm is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on storage to join its growing Enterprise SRE team. This team develops and maintains the productivity service infrastructure used across the entire firm, both on-prem and in the cloud. It ensures the availability and reliability of the systems in this stack and is the principal driver of growth for the software and infrastructure practice within the wider Enterprise Technology organisation.

In this role you will specialise in managing and scaling networked storage solutions for user-facing infrastructure and for some of the firm’s most sensitive data. As a member of the Enterprise SRE team you will also build, enhance, and manage a variety of internal systems, from directory services to AI tools, across both on-prem and cloud environments, while meeting demanding requirements for reliability and performance.

This role requires a deep skill set in Linux, Kubernetes, and observability, proficiency in Python, and solid experience with configuration management and IaC. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on engineer with exceptional organisational, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage secure NetApp-based networked storage solutions
• Build, enhance, and manage a variety of internal systems, from directory services to AI tools, both on-prem and in the cloud
• Enable and promote good engineering practice across the Enterprise Technology organisation
• Develop monitoring solutions to ensure high system uptime and reliability, using tooling to detect and resolve issues proactively

Qualifications

• Experience managing networked storage with NetApp appliances
• Experience troubleshooting NFS and SMB on Linux and Windows
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or related disciplines
• Proficiency with Python
• Experience managing and monitoring containerised infrastructure
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD
• Experience with IaC and configuration management tools such as Terraform, SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
• Experience working within an IT organisation is a plus

The estimated base salary range for this position is 200,000 to 250,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on several individual factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role is also eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
