Flexible Packaging Field Service Technical Representative

We are looking for a highly skilled Flexible Packaging Field Service Technical Representative to join our client’s Print & Packaging team in Anderson, SC. This role plays a vital part in driving customer success and sustainability initiatives by ensuring the seamless integration and high performance of flexible packaging solutions across customer sites.

Key responsibilities include conducting product qualifications, providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and delivering top-tier customer service. When not in the field, this role will be based at our facility, collaborating with the team, sharing insights, and contributing to product improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform product qualifications and trials at customer locations to guarantee our flexible packaging solutions meet tailored customer requirements.
• Offer technical support and troubleshooting for our film products on-site, ensuring swift and effective resolution of any issues.
• Engage directly with customers to comprehend their packaging needs, providing expert advice and tailored solutions.
• Liaise with R&D and production teams, sharing customer feedback and field insights to drive product innovation and improvement.
• Provide comprehensive training to customers on the handling, installation, and maintenance of our products, ensuring optimal performance.
• When not in the field, actively participate in our own facilities to integrate with the team, share knowledge, and contribute to collaborative projects.
• Prepare detailed field service reports, documenting product performance, customer interactions, and technical activities.
• Keep up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory standards to offer informed recommendations and sustain our competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

• Technical diploma or degree in Engineering, Material Science, Packaging Technology, or a related field.
• 5 years demonstrated experience in a field technician, installation, maintenance or similar role, preferably within the flexible packaging or food and beverage industry. 
• In-depth knowledge of packaging materials and processes, with a focus on flexible films.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and proficiency in troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong customer relationships and effective team collaboration.
• Availability for extensive travel to customer sites, including overnight stays, while maintaining a significant presence in our own facilities. Domestic travel estimated at 50-80%.
• Independent, self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality, and delivering outstanding customer service.

This is ideal for someone that was in Maintenance for packaging/food/beverage equipment and wants to travel. If they are in the Anderson, SC area, it would be about 50% travel and 50% working on projects in the plant. They are open to someone living anywhere in the Southeast and they can work from home about 20% of the time with 80% travel to Anderson or customer sites in the US.  They will be customer facing, so communication is key.
