ProSearch Recruiting Partners, an independent franchise of the MRINetwork specializing in factory automation career recruitment is hiring for very well established automation company who needs a Mechanical Design Engineer who is highly proficient with Inventor to join its team. The Mechanical Design Engineer will provide manufacturing and engineering solutions for a dynamic array of challenging industrial automation solutions.
The Mechanical Drafter will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and evaluating customer supplied specifications and requirements for mechanical designs.
- Designing and recommending robust, cost effective solutions that meet customer’s requirements as well as industry and safety standards.
- Understanding and ensuring compliance to ANSI, ISO, OSHA, and EU (if applicable) standards in the design of safety guards
- Developing complete design requirements including, but not limited to, mathematical calculations, detailed specifications, and evaluation of materials, assemblies, and components for strength\FEA
- Designing with company standard components, components from established vendors, and utilize internal fabrication and machining capabilities.
- Translating designs into accurate Bills of Materials and labor estimates.
- Producing detailed quotations or offer letters that differentiate our proposals from competitors to maximize wins.
- Creating and maintaining mechanical drawing package including 3D models and 2D Drawings for customer approval and for internal/external fabrication and assembly.
- Reviewing and updating models and drawings as needed throughout project lifecycle.
- Working closely with project team to provide technical support throughout project lifecycle
- Providing technical support to sales team, specialists and customers as needed
- Developing tools, techniques and best practices to improve the response time, accuracy, and efficiency of the design process.
- Identification and maintenance of product standards
- Assisting in populating CAD libraries.
- Storing, retrieving, and maintaining technical documents within Autodesk Vault.
- Following company technical standards for design and engineering.
- Maintaining professional working relations with Associates, Vendors, and Customers
- Maintaining high quality standards.
The Mechanical Drafter will excel with:
- Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in Engineering
- Machine design and system integration experience.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatic actuators, valves, and controls a plus.
- Proficient with 3D design software (Inventor)
- A keen attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Committed team player with caring attitude
- Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office software tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to read and understand drawings and BOM’s
- Ability to draw and interpret pneumatic schematics.
The Mechanical Drafter will be rewarded with:
