About the Role:

The Human Resources Professional (Entry-Level) supports all human resources functions at our client's New Jersey manufacturing facility. This role works closely under the direction and mentorship ofthe HR Manager while providing hands-on HR support in a fast-paced, multi-shift (24/6) production environment.

The position is designed for an HR professional who is developing their leadership and technical HR skills. While the role performs many core HR responsibilities, final decision making authority and escalated matters are supported and guided by the HR Manager. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex employee relations matters while maintaining operational focus in a manufacturing setting.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Assist with employee relations investigations, including complaints, misconduct, and policy concerns, under HR Manager guidance
  • Support supervisors with coaching conversations, corrective actions, and documentation
  • Help ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures
  • Participate in conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives
  • Support performance improvement plans, probationary reviews, and termination processes

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws under HR Manager oversight
  • Assist with I-9 compliance, wage and hour documentation, FLSA standards, and recordkeeping
  • Support OSHA, SQF, safety, and workplace compliance efforts
  • Prepare documentation and assist during internal and external audits
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Support full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation sessions for new hires
  • Conduct 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins with guidance from HR leadership
  • Ensure completion of required training and department SOPs

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and track required compliance and safety training
  • Assist with supervisor and leadership development initiatives
  • Support delivery of monthly training sessions across production shifts
  • Participate in corporate HR initiatives as assigned

Payroll, Benefits & Workforce Support

  • Support payroll processing by assisting with timekeeping and data accuracy
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and enrollment with HR Manager support
  • Help resolve payroll discrepancies and attendance concerns
  • Assist with tracking attendance, turnover, and basic HR metrics
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and plant discussions as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of human resources experience preferred (manufacturing experience a plus)
  • Foundational knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Willingness to learn and grow in employee relations and compliance
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Professional demeanor with high attention to confidentiality
  • Bilingual (Spanish required or strongly preferred)

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Progress toward SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification
  • Experience in a multi-shift or production environment
  • Exposure to safety programs or audit processes



Work Environment

This position is fully on-site in a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production employees across multiple shifts. The role offers significant hands-on learning and professional development opportunities.
