Our client, a growing company in the consumer health space, is seeking a Director of Product Development to lead the development and commercialization of private label OTC medication products. This role will oversee the full product development lifecycle while managing vendor relationships, timelines, and cost objectives.

The ideal candidate has strong private label experience, a hands-on approach to product development, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full product development process for private label OTC medication products, from concept through launch
• Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain
• Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contract manufacturers, and testing partners
• Oversee product specifications, formulations, and development documentation
• Manage development timelines and ensure on-time commercialization
• Drive product costing, margin improvement, and value optimization initiatives
• Review product samples and readiness for commercialization
• Identify opportunities for product improvements, line extensions, and portfolio growth
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity
• Lead, mentor, and develop the product development team

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of product development experience within OTC or consumer health products
• Proven experience developing private label products
• Strong background in vendor management and supplier collaboration
• Solid understanding of product formulation, testing, and commercialization processes
• Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
