Our client, a growing organization is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who enjoys keeping financial operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for a smart, proactive professional who can manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy across accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all accounts are balanced accurately.
• Record and post accounting entries as needed (this role is not heavily focused on journal entries).
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
• Maintain loan schedules by entering and updating information for numerous loans within the accounting system.
• Monitor tax filings and ensure all legal entities are accurately reflected on tax returns.
• Prepare and process sales tax filings and 1099 reporting.
• Support bookkeeping activities, including data entry, account maintenance, and financial record cleanup.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with improving financial data organization.
• Review daily scanned mail through the company’s digital mail platform, ensuring important notices, legal correspondence, or potential lawsuits are identified and routed appropriately.
• Coordinate weekly check deposits by visiting the bank or helping implement a more efficient electronic submission process.
• Assist with various accounting and finance projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or staff accountant experience.
• Strong understanding of bank reconciliations is required.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, taxes, and 1099 reporting.
• Comfortable working with multiple entities and maintaining organized financial records.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong Excel and accounting software experience. Preference for experience with Sage Intaact.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• ⁠Adaptable and comfortable with AI
