We are seeking an experienced HR/Payroll Director to lead payroll operations and HR administration. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, compliance with labor laws, and effective employee support. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with ADP Workforce Now, managing multi-state payroll, benefits programs, and HR compliance while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Oversee end-to-end, multi-state payroll for salaried and hourly staff using ADP WFN.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare payroll tax filings (W2s, 941s) and generate compensation reports.
Onboarding & HR Administration
- Manage new hire onboarding in collaboration with recruitment.
- Maintain accurate employee records, certifications, and training documentation.
- Administer benefits programs and oversee open enrollment.
- Develop and update HR policies and employee handbook.
Compliance & Audits
- Ensure adherence to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, HIPAA, and other labor laws.
- Handle unemployment claims, wage garnishments, and PTO tracking.
- Prepare for internal/external audits related to payroll and HR.
Employee Relations & Support
- Support performance management, reviews, and offboarding.
- Investigate and resolve employee disputes fairly.
- Partner with leadership on recognition and engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years in HR leadership with payroll expertise.
- Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now and multi-state payroll (500+ employees).
- Knowledge of labor laws, payroll tax regulations, and benefits administration.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in HR or Business.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification.
- Experience in healthcare/therapy services (ABA, behavioral health).
- HRIS/Payroll system implementation or migration experience.
