Head of Production (Content)

Location: Crown Heights NY (On-site)

$100,000-$120,000(Can be more depending on experience)

Our client, a fast-growing streaming platform for Jewish children, is seeking an experienced Head of Production to lead the execution of its original content from concept through final delivery.

The company produces animated series, live-action programming, and digital content focused on engaging, meaningful storytelling for children. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and execution—someone who understands visual storytelling and knows how to bring ideas to life while ensuring every project is delivered on time and at the highest quality.

This is not a traditional operations role. It's a production leadership position for someone who can guide creative teams, maintain a consistent visual world, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the production process from initial concept through final delivery across multiple content projects.
  • Lead the execution of animated series, live-action productions, and digital content while ensuring projects remain on schedule.
  • Direct and coordinate illustrators, storyboard artists, animators, designers, writers, voice talent, editors, and external production partners.
  • Provide creative direction throughout production to ensure visual consistency, storytelling quality, and brand standards.
  • Review illustrations, storyboards, character designs, animations, and creative assets, providing clear, actionable feedback.
  • Oversee world-building by maintaining consistent characters, environments, visual language, and storytelling across all content.
  • Manage production schedules, timelines, milestones, and deliverables across several projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate voice recording sessions, animation studios, editors, and other creative vendors throughout production.
  • Guide the development of thumbnails, promotional artwork, and advertising creative that aligns with each production.
  • Identify production challenges early and proactively keep projects moving toward completion.
  • Work closely with leadership to prioritize projects and ensure timely delivery without sacrificing quality.
  • Leverage AI-powered production tools and workflows where appropriate to improve efficiency while maintaining creative excellence.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience managing creative production, content production, design projects, animation, publishing, or related fields.
  • Strong background in visual design, illustration, animation, art direction, magazine publishing, creative production, or similar industries.
  • Experience leading multiple creative projects simultaneously from concept through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, visual composition, and character development.
  • Ability to review creative work and provide thoughtful direction to improve illustrations, storyboards, animations, and visual assets.
  • Experience managing cross-functional creative teams, including designers, illustrators, writers, editors, animators, voice talent, and outside vendors.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to balance creativity with deadlines and execution.
  • Comfortable working with digital production tools and modern AI-assisted creative workflows.
  • Familiarity with children's programming, animation, or digital media production is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Jewish culture, values, and storytelling is a strong plus.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone who understands both great storytelling and great execution.
  • A leader who can recognize what works visually and confidently guide creative teams toward a stronger final product.
  • Someone who has managed complex creative productions—not just operational projects.
  • A highly organized professional who excels at delegation, communication, and keeping multiple productions moving simultaneously.
  • A detail-oriented leader who can maintain consistency across characters, storylines, and visual worlds.
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and takes ownership from concept to completion.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of $100,000- $120,000 (depending on experience)
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
  • The opportunity to help shape original content that inspires Jewish children around the world
