Controller/CPA - Healthcare

The Controller is a critical role within our healthcare organization, responsible for overseeing all financial operations. This includes financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of healthcare finance, strong leadership skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.


Responsibilities


  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend strategies to improve profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess organizational health.
  • Accounting and Reporting: Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Monitor and optimize the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, and collections.
  • Identify and address issues affecting revenue cycle efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate claims submission.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Stay informed of relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of accounting and finance professionals.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare finance, with a strong understanding of revenue cycle management.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as ERP and accounting software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 


Desired Skills


  • Experience with healthcare reimbursement methodologies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments and regulatory requirements.
