This role will serve as a critical technical link between design and manufacturing, ensuring that complex cabinet designs are accurately translated into machine-ready files for production.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, precise, and capable of bridging creative design concepts with practical manufacturing execution.
Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, part lists, and engineering documents based on architectural plans, field measurements, or design sketches.
• Create and manage machine-ready files for CNC production, including DXF layouts, nesting, and toolpath-ready outputs.
• Translate custom cabinetry and millwork designs into accurate, buildable components.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, CNC operators, and production leads to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and quality.
• Specify required hardware and accessories using standard systems (e.g., BLUM, Häfele).
• Maintain digital drawing libraries and support the standardization of construction methods.
• Participate in design reviews and assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and best practices in CAD-to-production workflows.
• As the department grows, help coordinate and oversee additional CAD personnel, including overseas collaborators.
Qualifications
• 2–5 years of experience in CAD drafting, millwork engineering, or production design.
• Strong command of 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent).
• Ability to generate precise, buildable shop drawings from architectural or conceptual inputs.
• Understanding of cabinetry construction methods, joinery, and woodworking techniques.
• Familiarity with CNC manufacturing processes, nesting, and panel processing.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on practical execution.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of hardware specification and installation standards.
Preferred but not required:
• Experience preparing CNC programs or using CAM/Nesting software.
• Exposure to architectural drawing review, markups, and redlines.
• Experience with high-end custom cabinetry projects or hands-on fabrication.
