This role will serve as a critical technical link between design and manufacturing, ensuring that complex cabinet designs are accurately translated into machine-ready files for production.

This position offers a unique opportunity to build a foundation for a growing department.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, precise, and capable of bridging creative design concepts with practical manufacturing execution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings, part lists, and engineering documents based on architectural plans, field measurements, or design sketches.

• Create and manage machine-ready files for CNC production, including DXF layouts, nesting, and toolpath-ready outputs.

• Translate custom cabinetry and millwork designs into accurate, buildable components.

• Collaborate closely with project managers, CNC operators, and production leads to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and quality.

• Specify required hardware and accessories using standard systems (e.g., BLUM, Häfele).

• Maintain digital drawing libraries and support the standardization of construction methods.

• Participate in design reviews and assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication.

• Support continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and best practices in CAD-to-production workflows.

• As the department grows, help coordinate and oversee additional CAD personnel, including overseas collaborators.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in CAD drafting, millwork engineering, or production design.

• Strong command of 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent).

• Ability to generate precise, buildable shop drawings from architectural or conceptual inputs.

• Understanding of cabinetry construction methods, joinery, and woodworking techniques.

• Familiarity with CNC manufacturing processes, nesting, and panel processing.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on practical execution.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

• Knowledge of hardware specification and installation standards.

Preferred but not required:

• Experience preparing CNC programs or using CAM/Nesting software.

• Exposure to architectural drawing review, markups, and redlines.

• Experience with high-end custom cabinetry projects or hands-on fabrication.
