Our client is a growing capital markets firm focused on middle market commercial real estate transactions throughout the NYC/NJ market. With more than 1,000 loans arranged, the firm works closely with owners, investors, and lenders to structure and execute transactions. They are seeking an Acquisitions & Capital Markets Associate who can both underwrite deals and turn the analysis into compelling, institutional quality packages that help get transactions closed.
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite off market multifamily and mixed use investment opportunities.
- Analyze property financials, rent rolls, operating statements, and market data.
- Build and maintain Excel models including pro formas, DSCR, debt yield, refinancing scenarios, and sensitivity analyses.
- Prepare professional lender packages and offering memorandums, including executive summaries, sponsor overviews, market analysis, financials, sources & uses, and exit strategies.
- Screen new opportunities and assist with deal evaluation and LOIs.
- Coordinate due diligence and work with borrowers, lenders, brokers, and other parties throughout the transaction.
- Follow up with lenders and help drive transactions through closing.
- Clearly communicate financial analysis and deal structure to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 1 - 4 years of experience in commercial real estate brokerage, acquisitions, lending, or underwriting.
- Strong understanding of NYC multifamily real estate.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Ability to analyze financial information and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to turn complex financial information into clear, concise investment and lender materials.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
- Fast paced, proactive approach with strong follow through.
Compensation:
Competitive base salary plus per deal bonuses tied to financings and sales.
