Director of Development & Fundraising

Spring Valley, NY

$150,000 - $200,000+ bonuses

Our client is a fast-growing organization dedicated to providing much needed support to a specific demographic within our community. Known for its entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative culture, the company is looking for a highly organized and proactive Executive Assistant to support senior leadership. With rapid recent growth and expanding national impact, they are at an exciting stage of building out our team, systems, and strategy to sustain and scale their work.

The Role

As Director of Development & Fundraising, you’ll be both strategist and builder-leading our fundraising vision while rolling up your sleeves to execute in a dynamic, fast-growing environment. Reporting to the executive team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we approach development, cultivating relationships, and creating the structure that will support long-term sustainability.

This is not a “plug and play” role-it’s for someone entrepreneurial who thrives on creating order out of growth, adapting quickly, and finding opportunities in the fast-changing nonprofit landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead a comprehensive development strategy that grows with the organization.
  • Cultivate and maintain high-value relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Build new fundraising programs and systems to match the pace of organizational growth.
  • Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to maximize giving and long-term loyalty.
  • Partner with leadership to identify, pursue, and secure innovative funding opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at donor meetings, events, and community functions, sharing their mission with authenticity and passion.
  • Monitor progress, track metrics, and adjust strategies as needed in a fluid environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success leading development or fundraising efforts in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts.
  • Strong communicator and relationship-builder, able to engage diverse audiences with passion and clarity.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset-comfortable with ambiguity, problem-solving, and building structure in a fast-growth environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves execution style.
  • Passion for veteran support and community growth.
