A busy Property & Casualty insurance broker is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to provide day-to-day support. This is an unofficial secretary role focused primarily on administrative duties, with light exposure to underwriting tasks. Ideal for someone organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced insurance office environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support directly to the broker
- Manage emails, correspondence, scheduling, and client follow-ups
- Prepare applications, quotes, and policy documents for review
- Assist with data entry, file organization, and record maintenance
- Communicate with clients, carriers, and vendors as needed
- Support basic underwriting-related tasks such as gathering documentation and verifying information
- Track renewals, deadlines, and policy updates
Qualifications:
- Prior administrative or office support experience required
- Familiarity with Property & Casualty insurance terminology or processes preferred
- Basic understanding of underwriting concepts is a plus (not required)
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
- Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and office software
- Professional, dependable, and detail-focused
