They operate across e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail, with a fast-paced startup mindset and a strong emphasis on brand, customer experience, and operational excellence. Their team is highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and hands-on, and value ownership, accountability, and thoughtful growth as they continue to scale.
Reposnsibilities:
- HR Director will oversee all people operations and help build scalable systems that support a growing retail and e-commerce team.
- Oversee all HR operations including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and offboarding
- Partner closely with leadership on workforce planning, compensation strategy, and organizational growth
- Develop, implement, and enforce company policies, employee handbooks, and HR procedures
- Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and escalations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (with a strong understanding of retail labor regulations)
- Oversee payroll coordination, timekeeping processes, and benefits administration
- Build and maintain performance review systems and career growth frameworks
- Support managers with coaching, documentation, and leadership development
- Maintain HR records, reporting, and internal documentation
- Act as a trusted resource for employees and leadership alike
Qualifications:
- HR experience, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or a fast-growing company
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience building HR systems and processes from the ground up
- Excellent people skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and empathetically
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while partnering closely with leadership
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Experience with HRIS, payroll systems, and time-tracking software (experience with retail teams is a plus)
