Consumer Protection Lawyer - Associate Position

We are seeking a skilled Consumer Protection Lawyer to join our team as an Associate, with a focus on handling federal litigation in consumer protection cases. The Associate will manage all aspects of the litigation process, from initial case assessment through trial preparation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Litigation Management: Oversee and handle federal litigation matters with a focus on consumer protection.
  • Motion Practice: Draft, file, and argue motions in federal court.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support litigation strategies and case development.
  • Complaint Drafting: Draft, file, and initiate new complaints with a strategic approach to client needs and case facts.
  • Discovery: Manage all aspects of discovery, including drafting discovery requests, responding to discovery demands, and reviewing and producing documents.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients at various court appearances, including hearings, conferences, and trial.

Qualifications:

  • Required Experience: At least 2 years of litigation experience, ideally in a consumer protection context.
  • Preferred Expertise: Familiarity with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is a strong plus.
  • Bar Admission: Admission to practice in New Jersey or New York is required.

Additional Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective motion writing and courtroom advocacy.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
