PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR - $24.00/hour Mentor, OH
2nd shift 2:30pm to 11:00pm
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form metal parts according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards. The Press Brake Operator will work closely with the production team to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Select and install the appropriate dies, tooling, and machine settings for each project.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to determine bending specifications.
- Inspect parts during and after production to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Make adjustments to the machine as needed to maintain proper alignment, tooling, and part specifications.
- Monitor the production process to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company safety and cleanliness standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals and resolve any issues.
- Communicate with supervisors and other departments regarding production status, delays, and any issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
- Strong understanding of press brake machines, bending techniques, and metalworking.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in the use of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure accurate measurements and tolerances.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machine operation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
