
Machine Operator (Slitting Machine)

1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM - Monday – Friday (Overtime available when needed)
Previous slitting experience and knowledge of metal and machinery preferred but willing to train someone with the right attitude and aptitude. $1000 signing bonus after being hired in.
Pay: $18 – $24 per hour (based on experience)
Job Overview
We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Solon, OH. This position assists with the setup and operation of a slitting machine used to produce material according to customer specifications and dimensions based on work orders and blueprints.
This role starts by supporting experienced operators and learning the process. With extensive training, the right candidate will progress to independently operating the machine.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Package, handle, and protect finished materials produced on machines

Assist operators with machine setup and adjustments
- Inspect, calibrate, and check machine setup as needed

Help operate machinery that slits product to customer specifications and dimensions
- Load materials onto machines and adjust equipment to match material being processed
- Monitor machine operations, control boards, and gauges to identify defective material or machine malfunctions

Complete work orders and production reports accurately and in detail
- Maintain constant awareness while operating equipment to ensure safety
- Assist with additional duties on the production floor during training to understand all processes

Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Skills & Requirements
- Tow motor / forklift driving experience preferred

Ability to read a tape measure accurately

Strong basic math skills

Ability to perform a variety of production tasks daily
- Willingness to adapt and assist in different areas of production

Ability to read and understand specifications and work orders

Ability to use measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and scales
- Ability to follow written safety procedures

Previous slitting experience or knowledge of metal and machinery preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Basic computer skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Regular use of hands for handling materials and operating equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Ability to operate hand tools and production equipment

Requires close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Must follow safety precautions when working around moving machinery and equipment
