STAFF ACCOUTANT


Purpose:

The Staff Accountant will be pivotal in the financial operations of the company, assisting in the month end close process and managing account reconciliations. This role will also manage fixed assets, credit card programs, and tax reporting. Additionally, they'll contribute in; the budgeting process, accounts payable/receivable support, and perform financial analysis, contributing significantly to organizational success.


Essential Functions/Responsibilities:


• Financial Statements – assist in preparation:

o Prepare and post various journal entries.

o Prepare monthly account reconciliations for various G/L accounts.


Fixed Asset Accounting / Project Accounting:

o Maintain the Company’s fixed asset records – book basis and tax basis utilizing 3rd party software FAS.

o Manage the Capital Expenditure budget and tracking system for all open and budgeted projects.


• Company Credit Card & Expense Reporting Administrator:

o Work with the Company’s bank and employees to administer the Company’s credit card program and record all charges in the company’s G/L.

o Work with SAP Concur Expense Reporting system as system administrator. Train employees on use of the system. Process all expense reports and record all transactions in the company’s G/L.


• Sales & Use Tax and Other Compliance Reporting:

o File all Sales and Use tax returns for all states which the Company is registered in.

o Set up new states as required.


Cash Management:

o Reconcile bank accounts and cash activity.

o Report out daily cash balances and receipt/payment summary.


• Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable:

o Process and manage AP invoice workflow for one of Mar-Bal’s divisions.

o Various back-up support posting AR invoices and customer status updates.


Education/Experience/Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting

• Experience: 3+ years of relevant accounting experience is preferred

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables).

• Knowledge of finance, accounting, and control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting


Principles (GAAP)

• Exceptional prioritization, organization, and time management skills.

• Good knowledge and understanding of various accounting software
