
ASSEMBLERS
$21/hour
M-Thurs 7am-4:30pm and Fri. 7am -11am
Performs assembly work utilizing lean principles to produce products in a controlled work environment. Build quality assemblies using blueprints, procedures, and fixtures. Follow written and verbal instructions using a variety of hand tools and equipment. Work in any and all departments within manufacturing with little to no supervision and provides training and expertise as requested.
DUTIES
- Obtain shop orders, pull blueprints and procedures for jobs
- Reject non-conforming parts and complete Non-Conformance Report (NCR) for Supervisor to approve
- Assemble various sub-assemblies, with the use of hand and power tools, according to blueprints and standard work instructions (similar to above)
- Use departmental test procedures, to ensure components and assemblies meet required specifications
- Document revision levels, lot numbers, and serial numbers on revision data sheets for tracking quality of components and assemblies
- Works effectively with others in a team environment
- Supports and promotes LEAN operations by following standard work to include Safety Observations, Idea Generation and Hour by Hour Board updates
- Adhere to Shop Practices including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Meet quality assurance requirements and complete associated documentation
- Preform electronic assembly and wiring
- Plumb and test pneumatic systems
- Occasionally use welding equipment and techniques as needed.
- Use manual grinding machines and finishing hand tools as needed
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Ability to read interpret and work to complex drawings, blueprints and schematics.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant assembly experience involving assembling various sub-assemblies, with the use of hand and power tools, utilizing blueprints and standard work instructions.
- Basic Tig welding skills preferred
- Basic plumbing and testing experience preferred
- Ability to use grinding and finishing tools
- Work experience in an environment using Lean Manufacturing tools, such as, 5S,
- Visual Management, Waste elimination, and Root Cause Problem Solving are preferred
SKILLS
- Ability to read, understand and communicate oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving parts and equipment variation while maintaining quality expectations. Ability to identify, communicate and trouble shoot problems.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively and mentor other employees.
- Will be required to enter data at a computer terminal. Excel and Oracle experience required
