SHOP FOREMAN - STEEL INDUSTRY

$28/HOUR - Based upon experience

Qualified candidate must have at least 10 years' experience running and supervising a shop floor and custom metal fabrication/welding. The ideal candidate shall possess a strong ability to visualize various shop operations and identify potential problems that could shift the schedule of production. Safety and Quality will always remain our top two priorities within the operation of the company; thus, the individual who is to fill this position must have a dedicated passion for integrating this into their personal framework. Productivity and Delivery are the next focus, and a strong knowledge of shop procedures, schedules, and communication will be key skills required to carry out the functions of this role.

- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints as well as proficiently read a tape measure.

- Have a strong understanding of welding and how to manage it as a resource.

- Must have an eye for detail

- Ensure equipment is kept in top form through directing internal maintenance personnel or outside contractors

- Develop new ideas and ways to implement projects that focus on continuous improvement.

- Must possess a management style that includes team building

- Must be highly skilled in math (Algebra and Geometry)

- Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation.

- Make changes in the operations as necessary to best meet deadlines

- Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient.

- Must be highly communicative with both internal and external communication. - Perform and pass a drug test and physical.

- Undergo a background check.
