CNC Machinist - DIRECT HIRE
4 or 5 Axis
Set-up and Run - $30-35
1st Shift 6:00am - 3:30pm M-Th and 6:00am - 10:00am Friday (OT available)
Seeking a CNC machinist with at least 5 years’ experience setting up CNC mill turns, as well as large part turning. Experience setting up lathes with a steady rest preferred. Must be proficient in setup, work holding, program editing and optimizing, and all modern methods and tools associated with CNC live tool Y axis lathes. Must be self-sufficient and able to produce timely, high efficiency setups and product. Programming not required, but a high level of program editing and optimizing required.
Responsibilities
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs
Skills
- 5 years as a CNC lathe machinist
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, gauges etc.)
- Understanding of production procedures
- Knowledge of CNC lathe machines).
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
