Senior Human Resources Leader


Position Summary

A growing and evolving organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader to oversee and elevate all aspects of the people function. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership while also ensuring operational excellence across talent, employee relations, total rewards, compliance, organizational development, and HR systems.

The ideal candidate will bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution capability, helping the organization strengthen its people practices, improve organizational effectiveness, and support long-term business objectives. This position reports directly to a senior executive leader and serves as a key member of the leadership team.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to align people strategies with business objectives.
  • Develop and present workforce insights, recommendations, and updates to senior leadership.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of HR programs, policies, and processes.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness, talent retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Utilize workforce analytics and reporting to support business decisions and measure organizational performance.

Talent Management & Organizational Development

  • Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Partner with hiring leaders and external recruiting resources to attract top talent.
  • Oversee performance management processes and support leadership development efforts.
  • Assist leaders in succession planning, career development, and talent assessment activities.
  • Support organizational design initiatives and workforce optimization efforts.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performance workplace culture.
  • Conduct investigations and provide guidance on employee concerns, policy interpretation, and workplace issues.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and analyze feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify trends impacting retention.

Total Rewards & HR Operations

  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and related HR programs.
  • Partner with external vendors and brokers to evaluate and optimize benefit offerings.
  • Collaborate with payroll and benefits administration teams to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance HR systems, processes, and employee records.
  • Ensure employee handbooks, policies, and job descriptions remain current and compliant.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Oversee key compliance areas including workplace safety, employment eligibility, benefits compliance, and equal employment requirements.
  • Monitor legislative changes and implement necessary policy or process updates.
  • Maintain HR governance, documentation, and reporting standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Advanced HR certification preferred (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience leading broad-based HR functions across talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, and organizational development.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Experience utilizing HR technology platforms and workforce analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Proven ability to influence leaders and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and business acumen.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic environment.
