JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a salaried leadership position with performance-based earning potential. The Sous Chef
position serves as a developmental step toward Kitchen Manager and Culinary Partner
opportunities within the Red Door organization. Success is defined by leadership, consistency, and
the ability to elevate both team performance and guest experience through culinary excellence.
The Sous Chef plays a critical leadership role within the culinary
team—bridging daily kitchen execution with the brand’s commitment to scratch-made excellence,
consistency, and genuine hospitality.
Working closely with the Culinary Partner and Kitchen Manager, the Sous Chef leads by example,
balancing hands-on cooking with mentorship and operational support. This position helps ensure
that every dish reflects the restaurants promise of quality, pride, and craftsmanship, which defines

YOUR IMPACT AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Culinary Execution & Standards
• Prepare and cook menu items according to Red Door recipes, presentation, and quality
standards.
• Supervise and support all culinary stations during service to ensure timely execution,
consistency, and optimal guest satisfaction.
• Conduct and verify daily line checks to ensure readiness, freshness, and compliance.
• Monitor portioning, product quality, and presentation throughout each shift to ensure
consistency.
• Support the execution of specials, features, and menu rollouts in alignment with brand
direction.
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, coach, and inspire culinary team members through positive reinforcement and
accountability.
• Train and cross-train cooks to build a knowledgeable, flexible, and capable team.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring new team members.
• Communicate clearly with the Culinary Partner and Kitchen Manager on daily priorities,
prep levels, and performance.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, and pride in craftsmanship.

Required Skills
• Minimum 2–4 years of kitchen leadership experience in a full-service or upscale restaurant.
• Deep understanding of culinary techniques, sanitation standards, and kitchen operations.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods and lift to 50 pounds.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team through example and communication.
