Job Qualifications
- 
Culinary Degree or Certification: Formal culinary education from an accredited institution preferred

Leadership Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of progressive culinary management experience, preferably in senior living, hospitality, or high-volume fine dining

Menu Development Expertise: Proven ability to create innovative, nutritionally balanced menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences

Budget Management: Demonstrated success in controlling food costs, labor expenses, and kitchen operations within budget parameters
- 
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and health department standards
- 
Team Leadership: Exceptional ability to recruit, train, mentor, and retain talented culinary professionals
- 
Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Job Responsibilities
The Executive Chef in Newtown Square, PA will oversee all aspects of the culinary operations for this distinguished senior living community, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
Culinary Operations Leadership
- Direct daily culinary operations across multiple dining venues, including fine dining restaurant, bistro, and catering services
- Develop and execute seasonal menus that showcase fresh, locally sourced ingredients while accommodating special dietary requirements
- Maintain consistently high food quality standards through proper recipe development, portion control, and presentation guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
Team Management & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise culinary staff including sous chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants
- Create staff schedules to optimize productivity while controlling labor costs
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities
- Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen culture that promotes teamwork and excellence
Financial Stewardship
- Develop and manage the culinary department budget, including food costs, labor, equipment, and supplies
- Implement cost-control measures while maintaining exceptional quality standards
- Negotiate vendor contracts and pricing to maximize value
- Monitor inventory levels and implement efficient ordering systems to minimize waste
Resident & Family Engagement
