We’re hiring a hands-on Sous Chef for a high-energy, coastal-inspired bar and restaurant in King of Prussia. If you thrive in a fast-paced, scratch-driven kitchen and love tropical flavors, seafood, and polished-casual execution, this is a great seat.
What you’ll do
- Run daily service across sauté, grill, and fry; lead expo and line during lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
- Partner with the Chef on menu development, specials, and seasonal features (fresh seafood, handmade pastas, tacos, shareables, and signature starters).
- Own ordering, receiving, and inventory; set pars, rotate product, and maintain tight food-cost controls with minimal waste.
- Build schedules, train and coach a diverse team, enforce standards, and hold the line accountable for quality, consistency, and ticket times.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation and safety (HACCP/ServSafe practices); complete checklists, temp logs, and closing procedures.
- Collaborate with FOH/bar on timing, 86s, and feature sell-through; help drive happy hour and event execution.
What you bring
- 3+ years as a Sous Chef or 5+ years in high-volume kitchens (hotel, banquet, or polished casual) with strong station mastery (sauté, grill, seafood/butchery).
- Proven cost control: ordering, inventory, yield management, labor scheduling, and waste reduction.
- Calm, clear communicator who leads by example; comfortable coaching multilingual teams and jumping on any station.
- Valid ServSafe (or equivalent), reliable transportation, and flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.
