Job Title: VP/Loan Operations Manager


Department: Loan Operations


Summary:

The VP/Loan Operations Manager oversees the daily workflows of the Loan Operations department. Responsibilities include preparing loan documents, loan processing and servicing, collections, regulatory compliance, loan accounting, and file maintenance. This role also ensures efficient workflows, maintains knowledge of software systems, and conducts audits to assess compliance with policies and procedures.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Maintain, update, and implement department policies for loan documentation, processing, servicing, and compliance.
  • Ensure a quality control program to minimize errors in loan documentation and servicing.
  • Collaborate with the Special Assets Manager to manage troubled loans, including those in bankruptcy or non-accrual status.
  • Work with outside legal counsel on complex documentation and compliance matters.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting, including CRA and HMDA.
  • Manage escrow servicing and accounting, secondary market mortgage loan policies, and past-due resolutions.
  • Oversee loan file management (hard and imaged files) and ensure timely reporting for accounting and board meetings.
  • Collaborate with Credit Administration to align loan documentation with the bank's credit risk management objectives.
  • Supervise and manage staff training, departmental structure, and staffing needs.


Secondary Responsibilities:


  • Participate in leadership meetings and lead file management for credit and compliance exams.
  • Ensure compliance with document retention regulations and software updates.
  • Collaborate with other departments and participate in commercial lending leadership meetings.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


Manages the Loan Documentation and Loan Servicing teams, consisting of 8-10 employees.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of leadership experience in Loan Operations or Loan Servicing.
  • Proficiency with Laser Pro, OnBase, and experience with Fiserv, Finastra, or Abrigo is a plus.
