Job Summary:

As an SBA 7(a) Business Development Officer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, cultivating, and facilitating SBA 7(a) loan opportunities for small businesses. You will work closely with business owners and entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the loan application process and ensuring they have access to the financial resources they need to grow and succeed.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development: Identify and develop relationships with small business owners, entrepreneurs, and referral sources to generate a pipeline of SBA 7(a) loan prospects.
  2. Consultation: Provide expert guidance to clients on SBA 7(a) lending programs, including eligibility criteria, application requirements, and loan structuring.
  3. Loan Origination: Work with clients to complete SBA 7(a) loan applications, gather necessary documentation, and guide them through the underwriting and approval process.
  4. Credit Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis of loan applicants, including reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and cash flow projections to assess creditworthiness.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriters, processors, and loan officers, to ensure smooth and timely processing of SBA 7(a) loan applications.
  6. Compliance: Stay up-to-date on SBA regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring that all loan applications adhere to federal guidelines.
  7. Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for business growth.
  8. Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, loan applications, and outcomes, and provide regular reports to management on business development activities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience in SBA 7(a) lending, with a strong understanding of SBA regulations and programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local business communities and networking capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
