The Relationship Manager will be responsible for driving new business to the bank, cultivating, and developing new deposit relationships and being an excellent representative of the bank to the community. While our customers are both individuals and businesses, the bank has had success focusing on onboarding new business customers whose banking needs are more comprehensive than individuals. The RM will need to establish a thorough knowledge of our products and services to efficiently articulate the benefits business customers will experience when moving their banking. The RM will find new customers for the bank through inbound leads, client referrals, outbound prospecting, networking groups and client events. In many cases the RM will be the first interaction a customer has with our bank; and therefore, it is critical the RM exemplifies the bank’s culture, employee work ethic, and high level of customer service along with a strong banking knowledge. The RM will gain knowledge of all aspects of banking including: online banking functions, understanding client risk profiles, various payment methods and some lending. 


Areas of Responsibility and Job Requirements: 

Business Development Deposits: 

  • Seek out new business opportunities within the bank's defined market areas and actively participate in business development efforts to attract and retain quality clients. 
  • Develop and maintain a network of professional relationships and referral sources to include business owners, accountants, attorneys, and other centers of influence to enhance generation of new business. 
  • Plan, develop and pursue an active customer call program, within the Bank structure, to attract new banking relationships. 
  • Support other account officers in their efforts to obtain new business and retain existing relationships for the bank. 
  • Grow and manage a portfolio of accounts, acting as a key point of contact for business owners. Assist in opening new accounts and other administrative needs to gain new accounts. 
  • Manage all administrative aspects of deposit portfolio including: account opening, bank product demonstrations, presentations, daily operational items, assisting with Branch needs, wires, new product set up, customer feedback 
  • Promote and present to customers bank financial products and services, and coordinate implementation of strategies necessary to enhance deposit generating activities. 
  • Promote other products of the bank and provide referrals as appropriate. 
  • Coordinate with various divisions and departments (Branches, Operations, etc.) in the servicing of routine transactions and maintains up-to-date knowledge of competitors’ products and pricing in the market served. 

 

 

 

Customer & Brand Focus: 

  • Participate in civic, social and community relations activities to promote and strengthen the image of the bank within the Bank's footprint and reasonable proximity. 
  • Maintain a high visibility profile for the bank within the business and professional communities at large. 
  • Assist in coordinating local events including onsite branch events, business networking events and other client interaction events 
  • Assist in local marketing efforts including advertising strategies, public relations, social media, events, etc.  
  • Provide exceptional customer service for all local customers and be an internal cultural leader for the local market 
  • Be the key contact for all Bank related items for a portfolio of customers. 

Qualifications 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or related field. 
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in sourcing, creating, growing, and fostering relationships in a professional setting. 
  • Excellent customer service skills, communication skills, both written and verbal, and presentation skills. 
  • Excellent knowledge of sales, branch banking services and products (i.e., deposits, cash management, loans and other fee income generating products). 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and on a collaborative basis. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workflow. 
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and challenging environment characterized by sometimes changing priorities and short-term deadlines. 
  • Must be detail oriented. 
  • Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiency. Strong excel skills 
  • Team player with positive attitude
