Job Title: Sales Engineer – Cutting Tools (Chicagoland Territory)


Overview:

We are seeking a driven and technically minded Sales Engineer to represent our cutting tool solutions across the Chicagoland area. This role offers the opportunity to partner with distributors while also engaging directly with end users in manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong sales skills with a technical understanding of machining applications to drive growth and strengthen customer relationships.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow sales through distribution partners while actively supporting their teams.
  • Conduct end user sales calls across machine shops, manufacturers, and industrial customers to identify opportunities and provide cutting tool solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and end users, ensuring alignment and long-term growth.
  • Provide technical support and application expertise to customers to ensure optimal use of cutting tools.
  • Maintain a regular travel schedule within the Chicagoland area, with occasional account responsibility outside the immediate region.
  • Report on sales activity, territory performance, and market trends.


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of technical sales experience, preferably in cutting tools, industrial distribution, or machining environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of machining processes and applications (turning, milling, drilling, etc.).
  • Proven track record of sales growth and territory management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work independently and manage a large territory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred, but relevant experience will be strongly considered.
