Role Overview

As the Head of Civil/Structural Engineering, you will oversee the execution of civil and structural scopes across various engineering projects, feasibility studies, and competitive bids. The role requires leadership in ensuring all design outputs align with project scope, safety regulations, compliance codes, quality expectations, and cost parameters, while also being delivered on time.

This position includes responsibility for driving structural efficiency and design optimisation while acting as the civil/structural subject matter expert within the business. You will manage resources effectively, support business development, and uphold technical excellence across project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the civil/structural discipline across a portfolio of projects
  • Ensure technical compliance and quality across all design deliverables
  • Drive cost-effective and efficient design strategies
  • Oversee internal resource planning and allocation
  • Act as the primary point of expertise for civil and structural matters


Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng Hons preferred)
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng), ideally through ICE or IStructE
  • Significant experience in a civil/structural engineering leadership role
  • Strong understanding of design codes and standards applicable to construction and process industries
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures)
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical/site investigation reports and assess civil implications
