Production Engineer
Performance-critical motors and pumps only succeed if they can be built the same way, every time, under demanding pressure, temperature, and cleanliness standards. This role turns engineering intent into stable shop-floor execution so equipment leaves ready for the harshest energy environments. You will own how work is done, not just how it is documented, and your process decisions will show up in yield, lead time, and field reliability.
Performance Objectives
- Convert released designs into capable, repeatable build methods for precision rotating equipment, with clear work instructions, tooling, and inspection points.
- Raise first-pass yield and cut scrap, rework, and unplanned downtime on assigned cells by closing the highest-cost process failures.
- Shorten critical-path cycle time without weakening quality, traceability, or test readiness.
- Resolve production non-conformances at the source, working with design, quality, and supply so repeat issues stop recurring.
- Prepare builds for clean assembly and hot test so units arrive at test complete, correct, and on schedule.
- Stand up process changes—new tooling, methods, or supplier inputs—with measured capability before they become standard work.
- Coach supervisors and technicians so improved methods stick after you leave the cell.
Environment & Resources
You will sit with manufacturing, close to the shop floor, and report to production leadership. Day to day you will work with design engineering, quality, planning, procurement, assembly, and test. You will use CAD, ERP, controlled work instructions, and shop metrology, with authority to trial process changes on assigned product families and a mandate to spend time where the work is done.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or production engineering, or equivalent depth from precision industrial manufacture.
- Proven record of taking complex mechanical assemblies from drawing to stable production, not only from desk studies.
- Fluency with engineering drawings, tolerances, process capability, and root-cause problem solving on the floor.
- Experience improving yield, cycle time, or rework in a low-volume, high-specification manufacturing environment.
- Ability to write instructions technicians will actually use and to hold a standard once it is set.
- Comfort coordinating design, quality, and supply when a build is at risk.
Role Selling Points
- Work on equipment specified for high pressure, high temperature, and unforgiving duty—not commodity manufacture.
- See the full loop from method, build, and test through service feedback.
- Influence how performance-critical product is made, with visible effect on delivery and reliability.
- Join a specialist engineering and manufacturing team where process discipline is part of the product.
