Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

  • Design and Architect highly scalable, high-performance, secure, and reliable systems deployable on-premises or public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams.

Customer Engagement:

  • Translate customer needs into product and technical solutions.
  • Lead workshops to discover customer objectives, non-functional requirements, and constraints.
  • Identify and manage risks, including technical, legal, and regulatory challenges.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with the product roadmap and are feasible.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively through writing and diagrams.

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving:

  • Simplify and clarify problems to deliver effective solutions.
  • Prioritise based on value adding capabilities and identify implementation risks.
  • Engage in discussions and negotiations with customers to manage trade-offs.

Domain Expertise:

  • Develop a deep understanding of customers' business domains and objectives.
  • Focus on registry systems, security, identity management, authorisation, authentication, and data classification.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years as a Solution Architect or similar role.
  • Proven ability to design and implement high-performance, scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, managing client relationships, and delivering tailored solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and solve complex technical challenges.
  • Experience with Domain-Driven Design principles, patterns, and practices.
  • Proficiency in software architecture, system design, and deployment infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and DevOps culture.
  • Familiarity with API-first platforms and configuration over customisation approaches.
  • Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and C#.
  • Familiarity with architectural modelling tools like C4, UML, or ArchiMate.
  • Broad understanding of data storage technologies, including relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, CosmosDB), caching systems (e.g., Redis, Memcached), and data warehousing solutions.
