We are working with a group of companies who are opening up an office in Ireland that focus on Data Led solutions for Insurance and Re-Insurance industry. They are looking for an experienced Data Product Manager to join their growing business. This role will play a crucial part in creating a unique data offering for the commercial insurance industry. This will be achieved by working with a portfolio of reinsurers to develop a common, integrated data model that meets the diverse needs of various functions within each business and across businesses. The work involves defining the data products in collaboration with our business teams, and working with our data team to ensure the successful delivery of those data products. Data products could include data models, applications, dashboards, visualizations, etc.


  • Data Product Definition:
  • Query, understand, and analyse data that may come in multiple formats from multiple sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and work with the data team to develop data products to meet those needs.
  • Where possible, ensure that data products can be leveraged to solve multiple business problems, not just point solutions.
  • Identify, surface, and resolve data quality issues, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of the integrated data.


  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide deep expertise on the insurance industry, and the data and reporting needs of a range of types of insurance business (e.g. MGAs, carriers, Lloyd’s syndicates and managing agents, reinsurers, brokers, etc.), across a range of geographies (including but not limited to UK, EU, USA).
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data, analytics, and visualization.
  • Evaluate and recommend reporting and analytics tools, technologies, and platforms that align with the company's data strategy.
  • Explore third-party data products, liaise or negotiate with vendors on partnerships and licensing, and work with the data team to integrate those third-party data products.


  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, data scientists, actuaries, underwriters, and other teams to understand their data needs and deliver products.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing technical expertise and insights to drive successful data initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners, if necessary, to leverage their expertise in data-related solutions.


Requirements:

-Bachelors degree in Business, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or other numerate discipline

-Familiar with BI and Reporting tools, Excel, and work management tools such as JIRA.

-Extensive insurance data experience. Experience working in Lean/Agile environments is preferred.

-Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical IT, technical insurance, and non-technical business stakeholders

-Excellent proactive problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical data solutions

-Knowledge of actuarial modelling techniques, regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. Lloyds, PRA, FCA, CAA, US State Regulators), and financial reporting requirements
