POSITION OVERVIEW:
The mission of this position, within the R&D department is to:
- Design, develop and manufacture increasingly innovative, high-performance and reliable industrial technological solutions (i.e., those that can be mass produced and easily assembled) at the best overall cost for the Company, while also assuring they are aligned with their environmental and social responsibilities.
- Maintain the installed base of capital equipment / heavy machinery of different generations installed worldwide

The Electrical Engineering Manager manages a team of 2-4 people in Tolland (Connecticut) dedicated to cutting room machine developments (“Produce line”). As a manager, you'll work closely with the Electrical Engineering Director to:
- Allocate Resources: Distribute local team members to projects.
- Develop Team Skills: Plan and lead initiatives to grow your team's expertise.
- Drive Improvement: Ensure the team follows best practices and continuously improves within a global framework.
The Electrical Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading specific electrical development and sustaining projects with contribution of remote teams located in France and China.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage local Electrical Engineering (EE) team to allocate resources to new development and sustaining activities according to priorities. Mobilize and motivate the team and make the employees accountable to achieve set objectives.
- Develop local EE team competencies and implement best practices to improve capability of the team to deliver best designs requiring electronic circuitry design, power electronics, cabling, and machine conformity.
- Facilitate global collaboration of the local EE team with remote teams and other practices at a global scale. Support improvement and harmonization of practices among different company’s locations (France, China).
- Manage electrical deliverables to secure new development, ensure sustaining and customer satisfaction according to budget, delay, and the level quality defined. Work proactively with project managers and sustaining to identify new opportunities and best compromises.
- Implement and monitor relevant indicators in line with objectives. Report progress as appropriate and anticipate risks. Team up with global EE team and project management to mitigate those risks. Raise warning and request support or arbitration when needed.
- Lead continuous improvement concerns beyond R&D and implementation of harmonized EE practices. Work with the tech tools administrator (responsible for Electrical CAD, PLM, ERP, ...) to improve tools and team efficiency. Lead change when necessary, and foster innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering Degree with 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering in a similar role working on complex projects
- In depth knowledge of electrical design and systems integration in an industrial environment
- Proven management and leadership skills
- Proven success in coordinating multiple projects with cross functional teams
- Experience of both waterfall and agile development methodologies
- Ability to foster innovation and drive change
- Intercultural skills: experience working with global teams
- Desired skills:
- Cross disciplinary skills in software and mechanics
- Experience with JIRA, SEE electrical, Mentor Xpedition or Pads
- Bilingual in French
