The firm is experienced in the areas of foreclosure, creditor litigation, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, title curative issues, and general housing-related issues such as foreclosure liens, redemption, homeowner association matters, mobile home curative, and compliance issues.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Litigation Attorney will manage all phases of complex litigation within foreclosure, real estate and financial services, from investigation and pleadings through trial and appeal. This role involves drafting legal documents, conducting discovery, representing clients in court proceedings, and providing strategic legal counsel to support favorable outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment requiring sound judgment and attention to detail.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage a caseload of contested foreclosure matters from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiation, and trial preparation.
  • Appear in state courts throughout New York for conferences, hearings, and motions.
  • Draft, review, and argue motions (including summary judgment and dismissals).
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex foreclosure and real estate issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal team members.

 

PREFERRED PROFILE:


  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in foreclosure, real estate, or financial services.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with experience drafting and arguing motions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with foreclosure-related statutes, court procedures, and e-filing systems (NYSCEF).

 

YOU'LL STAND OUT IF YOU HAVE:


  • Experience representing lenders, servicers, or investors in foreclosure actions.
  • Trial or evidentiary hearing experience.
  • Proficiency with legal case management systems and document management software.
