Director of Operations

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Work arrangement: Primarily on-site, with some evening and weekend availability

Compensation: Competitive salary plus a performance bonus

The opportunity

We’re partnering with an independent wellness studio in Indianapolis to find a Director of Operations who can help a growing local community thrive. The studio brings people together through movement, thoughtful teaching, and a personal experience that keeps members coming back.

This is a hands-on leadership role with room to make a visible difference. You’ll work closely with the founders, lead the team behind the member experience, and turn good ideas into changes people can feel in the studio. As the business grows, you’ll help it do so with the same care that made it special in the first place.

What you’ll do

  • Lead day-to-day studio operations, supporting managers, front-desk staff, and instructors.
  • Grow class attendance and member retention by improving schedules, waitlists, instructor coverage, and the experience around every visit.
  • Coach the team, build fair schedules, give timely feedback, and help instructors continue to develop.
  • Make sure members feel heard by resolving concerns promptly and setting clear, consistent service standards.
  • Develop new ways for the community to engage with the studio, including workshops and corporate partnerships.
  • Use booking data, CRM tools, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts to guide decisions and advise the founders.

What success looks like

In your first year, you’ll help increase class occupancy, reduce no-shows, strengthen instructor retention, and create new sources of revenue. Just as importantly, members will feel known and supported, and the team will have the structure it needs to do its best work.

What you’ll bring

  • At least three years leading fitness or wellness operations, ideally in a boutique or multi-class setting, with visibility into financial performance.
  • Evidence that you’ve grown attendance, improved retention, or strengthened the member experience.
  • Confidence coaching instructors and front-line teams in a lean business.
  • Comfort using scheduling software, CRM tools, and basic financial reports to make decisions.
  • The ability to work on-site in Indianapolis most weekdays, with some evening and weekend availability.

Why this role

You’ll have direct access to the founders, the freedom to test practical ideas, and the chance to shape the next chapter of a studio with strong local roots. The role offers a competitive salary and a performance bonus linked to studio growth and member satisfaction.
