Director of Franchise Operations

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Work arrangement: Hybrid, with at least four days per week in office

Travel: Up to 50% for studio visits (as needed)

Compensation: Competitive compensation plus performance-based incentives

The opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing Pilates franchise to find a Director of Franchise Operations who can help studio owners build consistently successful businesses. Based in Los Angeles, you’ll lead a regional training and support center, bringing together the people, systems, and practical guidance franchisees need from pre-opening through ongoing growth.

This is a role with real ownership. You’ll connect training, studio launches, field operations, and local marketing so franchisees receive coordinated support and know who to turn to. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, make decisions that protect studio quality and profitability, and use what you learn in the field to improve how the wider business operates.

What you’ll do

  • Own regional studio performance, using clear measures to identify what’s working, where support is needed, and which issues require urgent attention.
  • Lead the regional support operation, aligning training, franchise business coaching, new studio openings, and field marketing around shared priorities.
  • Guide new studios from preparation through their first 90 days, making sure staffing, training, marketing, and operational setup are ready before opening.
  • Uphold readiness and brand standards, including delaying openings when requirements are not met and putting corrective plans in place when performance slips.
  • Build trusted relationships with franchisees, coach them through operational challenges, and take ownership of complex issues through to resolution.
  • Partner with training leaders to align instructor development with studio needs and assess whether training improves performance in practice.
  • Hire and develop the regional operations team, coordinate colleagues across functions, and plan resources against upcoming openings and studio support needs.
  • Set clear expectations for response times, visits, follow-up, and delivery, and use regular reviews to keep commitments on track.
  • Share recurring challenges and successful approaches with central teams, recommending changes that improve the franchisee and member experience.

What success looks like

Franchisees receive clear, consistent support. Studios open with the right people and systems in place, build class utilization, and establish sound operations during their first 90 days. Existing studios improve performance and profitability, and issues are resolved sooner.

In your first three months, you’ll establish a reliable reporting and review rhythm, assess studio performance, strengthen launch planning, and build a resource plan that supports regional growth.

What you’ll bring

  • At least eight years of experience in multi-unit, franchise, or field operations leadership, with direct responsibility for performance across multiple locations.
  • A record of introducing consistent operating systems and helping underperforming businesses improve.
  • Experience coordinating training, operations, launches, and marketing teams around shared outcomes.
  • Confidence using dashboards, performance reviews, and financial measures to diagnose problems and guide decisions.
  • Experience managing opening readiness, post-opening performance, service commitments, and escalations.
  • A direct, fair approach to franchise relationships, with the confidence to enforce standards and make difficult decisions.
  • The ability to meet the LA office requirements and travel regularly for studio visits.

Why this role

You’ll have the scope to shape how a growing franchise supports its owners, develops its teams, and brings new studios into the network. Your decisions will influence both individual studio success and the systems that support future growth.

The package includes competitive compensation, performance-based incentives, a 75% employer contribution toward an individual health plan, dental and vision options, life and pet insurance options, a 401(k) match of up to 4%, a fitness and wellness membership, paid time off, and company holidays.
