Position Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) / Behavioral Health Counselor (BHC)

Location: Glendale, AZ

Employment Type: Full-Time (Friday–Sunday | 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM) OR (M-Fri 10am-6pm)

Work Setting: Residential Behavioral Health Program – Adolescents

Compensation: $20 - $25 / hr

Our residential program in Glendale provides 24/7 care for adolescents who need a safe, structured, and supportive living environment. As a BHT/BHC, you are essential to creating stability, reinforcing treatment goals, and supporting youth through their recovery journey.


Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct supervision, therapeutic support, and daily structure to adolescent residents. This role focuses on maintaining a safe and recovery-oriented milieu while supporting clinical programming and daily living activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise adolescent residents and support daily routines and structured activities
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic residential environment
  • Observe, document, and report client behaviors and incidents accurately
  • Assist with daily living needs including hygiene, meals, and health monitoring
  • Conduct drug screenings in accordance with program protocols
  • Participate in therapeutic and recreational programming
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, medical, and leadership teams
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and respectful communication
  • Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards within the residence
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support client care and program operations


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in behavioral health (1–2 years preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience working with adolescents in residential or care-based settings preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Must pass required background checks
  • Possess or be eligible for a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
