We are seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient physical therapy team in North Phoenix. In this position, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans, ensure accurate documentation, and provide exceptional care for patients. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program (required)
- Current Arizona PTA certification (required)
- At least 1 year of experience in physical therapy (will consider new graduates)
Preferred:
- Two years of outpatient physical therapy experience
- Orthopedic background
Essential Functions
- Establish and maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
- Execute plan of care in compliance with state board guidelines.
- Respond to patient questions and provide education to support recovery.
- Document patient care in accordance with state practice act and organizational policies.
- Serve as an active member of the treatment team for assigned cases.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, infection control, and state regulations.
- Assist with training Physical Therapy Technicians.
- Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of physical therapy principles and standards.
- Familiarity with therapy equipment and safe usage.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, providers, and colleagues.
- Ability to recognize fall risks, compliance issues, and safety concerns.
- Comfort working with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, and physical abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical movements such as kneeling, squatting, and overhead lifting.
- Competence with clinical documentation and EMR systems.
