Location: Sun City West, Arizona

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Weekdays | Outpatient Setting


About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient physical therapy team in Sun City West. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists to provide hands-on care, implement treatment plans, and help patients reach their rehabilitation goals. Essential Functions

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Carry out physical therapy treatment plans in compliance with state practice act and board guidelines.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns to ensure positive outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Document care and patient information accurately in the medical record system.
  • Serve as a primary member of the treatment team for assigned cases.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, infection control, and organizational policies.
  • Assist with training and mentoring Physical Therapy Technicians.
  • Protect patient confidentiality at all times.


Education & Certification Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program (required).
  • Current Arizona PTA certification (required).


Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience or equivalent.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of physical therapy standards, practices, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and infection control regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to recognize patient safety and fall risks.
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to engage effectively with patients of diverse ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Competence with EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Physical ability to assist patients, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform kneeling, squatting, and overhead lifting as required.


Work Environment

  • Outpatient clinical setting with occasional community-based travel.
  • Requires sitting, standing, and assisting patients with transfers.
