About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient physical therapy team in West Phoenix. This is a great opportunity for a motivated PTA who values collaboration, high-quality patient care, and professional growth. You will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans, support patients in reaching their rehabilitation goals, and help maintain a safe and supportive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
- Carry out physical therapy treatment plans in compliance with state practice act and board guidelines.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion.
- Serve as an integral member of the treatment team for assigned cases.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and organizational policies.
- Assist with training and mentoring Physical Therapy Technicians.
- Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Education & Certification
- Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program (required).
- Current Arizona PTA certification (required).
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, practices, and equipment use.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and infection control standards.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to recognize safety and fall risks in patients.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
- Physical ability to assist patients, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform kneeling, squatting, and overhead lifting.
Work Environment
- Outpatient clinic setting with occasional community-based travel.
- Requires sitting, standing, and assisting patients with transfers.
