Our client is a leader in green energy customer technology solutions. They are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer with strong backend expertise to help build and enhance application code, develop data integrations, and support the migration of legacy web applications.
While this is a full-stack position, the role is heavily focused on backend engineering and Python development. We are looking for a senior-level engineer who can take a documented set of business and technical requirements, independently design the appropriate solution, and build it through completion.
This resource will be part of the Professional Services team and will work across application development, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and legacy application modernization.
Job Requirements
- Strong full-stack software engineering experience with a primary focus on backend development
- Advanced proficiency with Python 3.x, including Python scripting and object-oriented development
- Experience building backend applications and services using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks
- Senior-level engineering skills with the ability to take documented requirements and independently architect, design, and build a solution
- Strong experience building, integrating, and consuming APIs, including RESTful APIs
- Experience designing and implementing scalable microservice architectures
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines
- Familiarity with Databricks and modern data engineering workflows
- Familiarity with Kafka or other publish/subscribe distributed streaming platforms
- Experience working with cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with reading data from and writing data to SFTP locations within a GCP environment
- Experience working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including large datasets
- Ability to write unit and functional tests
- Experience working with and modernizing legacy web applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader engineering team
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent demonstrable industry experience
Additional Relevant Experience
- JavaScript and modern front-end development experience
- Angular experience, with Angular 17 preferred
- Infrastructure as Code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
- CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Serverless architecture, preferably Google Cloud Functions
- Linux command-line experience
- Git and modern source-control workflows
- A passion for automation and improving engineering processes

You should be comfortable evaluating requirements, determining the appropriate architecture, integrating multiple systems and data sources, and building reliable production-ready solutions. The strongest candidates will combine deep Python/backend expertise with enough full-stack experience to contribute to application modernization efforts when needed.
