Job Summary:

The Sales Engineer plays a critical role in driving business growth by identifying opportunities, cultivating key relationships, and executing sales strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales activities to establish, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with current and prospective clients, focusing on customer retention and new business growth in assigned regions or accounts to achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and nurture relationships at all customer levels, including plant engineers, R&D specialists, procurement teams, and senior management.
  • Create and deliver tailored product demonstrations that reflect an in-depth understanding of customer needs and present the company's solutions.
  • Exhibit technical expertise and address questions regarding product capabilities and integration into existing customer systems.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations that align customer needs with desired business outcomes.
  • Stay informed about the company's products/services to enhance sales efforts.
  • Research new prospects and maintain awareness of customer potential.
  • Draft and deliver effective proposals and quotes for current and potential clients.
  • Develop account plans for existing customers, outlining profiles and business opportunities.
  • Accurately maintain sales data and generate reports within Salesforce (CRM).
  • Provide reliable sales and renewal revenue forecasts.
  • Present key metrics and insights to leadership, stakeholders, and customers to gauge business potential.
  • Attend trade shows, conventions, and training seminars to identify new business opportunities and grow customer relationships.
  • Inform customers about new/improved products/services and communicate feedback to product development teams.
  • Develop detailed quotes and customer implementation strategies.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Undertake other assigned projects and tasks.


Required Qualifications:


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
  • 2-4 years of proven sales experience.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated success in sales roles.
  • Familiarity with simulation/rendering software.
  • Willingness to work remotely and travel approximately 50% within the designated territory of Kansas and Missouri.
  • Understanding of NC programming and engineering analysis/technology.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, aerospace, and automotive sectors.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a capacity to work independently.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with VERICUT or CAD/CAM software.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Experience with commercial accounts.
