Job Description:
Joining our Client's Project Execution Department, the Senior Project Manager holds ultimate responsibility for overseeing the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of complex and/or large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and objectives. Reporting to the Director of Projects or Business Line Vice President/Manager, the successful Senior Project Manager will offer guidance and managerial support to project teams throughout the execution of engineering projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the project team and the client representative, maintaining a client-facing role.
- Develop, execute, and adjust project execution plans as necessary to meet client needs and project metrics.
- Identify necessary resources and oversee team responsibilities.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects.
- Ensure all deliverables undergo review, approval, and sign-off before client issuance.
- Enforce adherence to internal standards and procedures within the project team.
- Review project transactions and promptly report any discrepancies on a weekly basis.
- Review and approve invoices within a 48-hour turnaround.
- Maintain resource planning for assigned projects.
- Manage project budget and schedule.
- Maintain continuous accessibility to the client throughout the project's lifecycle, serving as the single point of contact to ensure timely and appropriate handling of specific requests.
- Organize and lead a Project Management Team consisting of other Project Managers and/or Project Engineers.
- Drive the Management of Change philosophy and enforce corresponding procedures.
- Act as the advocate for safety and quality on the project.
- Review and provide final approval for all subcontractors' contracts and invoices.
- Oversee the overall execution of projects.
- Participate as a contributing member of the assigned Functional Group or Execution Center.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the sales/business development process.
- Comprehend the relationship between multi-discipline deliverable packages, including procurement and construction activities.
- Consistently recognize and appreciate each team member's contributions.
- Effectively leverage each team member's capabilities.
- Motivate the team to collaborate in the most efficient manner.
- Track lessons learned and share them with team members and peers.
- Address team conflicts and communication issues.
- Identify areas for improvement in internal processes and propose solutions.
- Lead and/or participate as a member of internal teams/task forces.
- Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, efficiency, and utilization.
Experience and Skill Requirements:

Education Required: Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of Relevant Experience, or Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of Relevant Experience.

Preferred Education/Licensure: BS Engineering, MBA, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Experience Required: At least 5 years of industry-related experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
Preferred Experience:
- 5 years of experience as the Lead Engineer on large multi-discipline projects, Project Engineer, and/or Project Manager.
- Proficiency in scheduling techniques and software.
- Familiarity with cost estimating and control.
- Comfortable speaking in group settings.
- Understanding of all applicable discipline deliverables.
- Financial Management skills.
- Comprehension of complex revenue models, profit and loss (P/L), and cost-to-completion projections, making decisions accordingly.
- Understanding of pricing models and billing procedures.
- Accurate forecasting of revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates, and utilization.
