Job Overview:

Our Client is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive direct revenue growth across an assigned territory while leading the performance and collaboration of internal and external sales partners. This role blends high-touch, technical direct sales with the strategic enablement and management of aligned reseller channels under defined commercial frameworks. Reporting to regional sales leadership (Director of Sales, Sales Manager, or Country Manager, depending on region), you will own the full sales cycle, expand key accounts, and ensure customer satisfaction and renewals.

You will leverage deep technical sales acumen to deliver tailored demos and solution presentations across target industries, ideally within manufacturing and industrial software. In parallel, you will enable internal resellers through onboarding, training, and performance management, and cultivate co-selling opportunities with OEMs and ecosystem partners such as machine tool builders, CAM vendors, and tooling providers to amplify market reach.

Operating cross-functionally with product, support, marketing, and finance, you will align go-to-market execution, provide timely market feedback, and maintain rigorous pipeline discipline in Salesforce. The role requires up to 50%+ travel within the territory.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business acquisition and expand existing accounts through technical sales engagements across target industries
  • Deliver customized product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to customer requirements
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through quotation, negotiation, and close
  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans to drive satisfaction, renewals, and growth
  • Use Salesforce for pipeline tracking, forecasting, reporting, and regular pipeline reviews
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and manage performance against targets using CRM tools
  • Serve as the regional lead for managing internal resellers authorized to sell Our Client’s products within a shared commercial framework
  • Onboard, train, and enable internal resellers; ensure compliance with product and licensing standards
  • Coordinate joint marketing, lead generation, and customer engagement activities with resellers
  • Oversee reseller levels and performance expectations, including sales facilitation, technical training readiness, and first-level support responsibilities
  • Ensure smooth transactional workflows, including pricing alignment, order processing, and maintenance renewals
  • Set growth targets for internal resellers and monitor progress through formal KPIs and periodic performance evaluations
  • Cultivate co-selling opportunities with machine tool builders, CAM software vendors, and tooling providers
  • Facilitate integration and go-to-market alignment with ecosystem partners to increase value for shared customers
  • Collaborate with product, support, marketing, and finance teams to align go-to-market execution and customer outcomes
  • Provide feedback on regional market dynamics, competitive positioning, and customer requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field required; MBA or equivalent business education preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive B2B technical sales experience, ideally within manufacturing, industrial software, or engineering solutions
  • Proven track record managing full sales cycles and consistently achieving quota targets
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) for pipeline tracking and forecasting
  • Ability to deliver tailored technical demos and solution presentations to a range of stakeholders
  • Experience managing accounts and renewals through strategic account planning
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to KPIs and performance metrics
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration with product, support, marketing, and finance teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%+
  • Preferred: 3–5 years of experience engaging or managing channel partners, resellers, or OEM relationships
  • Preferred: Familiarity with CNC machining, CAM/CAD, or engineering software
  • Preferred: Background working with OEMs or industry ecosystem partners
  • Preferred: Skill in developing growth strategies and monitoring partner performance
