Job Overview: Our client is shaping a next-generation AI workspace for the insurance industry - helping teams reduce busywork and move faster on the decisions that matter. We’re looking for a Social Media Specialist / Social Media & Content Manager to own and grow their social presence—especially LinkedIn and X —through strong storytelling, high-quality creative, and consistent publishing. This is an on-site role in San Francisco, CA (5 days/week in-office), partnering closely with the hiring manager and team to translate product and company moments into content that drives brand awareness and category leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the company’s social channels end-to-end (strategy + execution), with primary focus on LinkedIn and X; expand to YouTube Shorts and other channels as needed
- Plan, write, design, schedule, and publish content weekly (including still images, short-form video, and dynamic content)
- Capture and create organic content from real moments in the office (photos, short clips, behind-the-scenes) and turn them into compelling narratives
- Collaborate with the hiring manager and team on campaigns: product updates, launches, events, thought leadership, and brand initiatives
- Develop creative concepts (hooks, scripts, formats, series) and iterate quickly based on performance and feedback
- Engage and grow community: respond to comments, monitor DMs, and strengthen relationships with the right ICP audience
- Track performance (impressions, engagement, audience quality) and turn insights into improved content and distribution
- Coordinate with external or internal creative resources (design, animation, videography) when needed; maintain high bar for polish and taste
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2–4+ years of full-time (non-internship) experience owning social media channels and content creation end-to-end (not just execution)
- Demonstrated expert-level LinkedIn writing and distribution skills; strong comfort publishing on X
- Strong writing ability with a crisp, human voice (must be able to write without relying on AI)
- Portfolio required; must include real examples and/or live links plus thoughtful case studies (not only screenshots)
- Strong design and creative judgment; Canva required; Figma nice-to-have; Adobe tools nice-to-have
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced startup environment with ambiguity, high standards, and rapid iteration
- Comfortable editing/publishing short-form video (YouTube Shorts or similar)
- Must be willing to work on-site in San Francisco, CA 5 days/week (no remote or hybrid)
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience marketing to insurance audiences or adjacent regulated industries
- Experience in B2B SaaS, AI, or technical product storytelling
- Experience across both big tech and VC-backed startups (startup experience prioritized)
WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR:
- Candidates with only internship, contract-only, or agency-only experience and no full-time role ownership
- Candidates who haven’t owned a social channel end-to-end
- Candidates who prefer slow timelines, heavy approvals, or highly structured environments
