PD 2: Office Management/Staff Officer – Skill Level 4 (NGA-W) 

Duties Include all duties, skills, and responsibilities as PD 1 Office Management/Staff Officer – Skill Level 3 and the following: 


Provide office-level staff and technical support, including but not limited to: 

  • Directing the activities of other staff, as necessary, related to specified field and special projects 
  • Leading event or meeting coordination, to include scheduling facilities, developing agendas, assisting event/group coordinators, and supporting the overall event/meeting execution 
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications 

Provide written and verbal communication support to various audiences, including but not limited to: 

  • Drives content creation and briefs for key internal and external meetings/initiatives 
  • Reviewing, rewriting, and editing work products from all organizational levels for senior directorate or office leadership review 

 

Apply logic, critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills, to include: 

  • Coordinate key strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring fluid communication across the directorate and holding offices accountable to drive outcomes at the highest standard of quality and timeliness 
  • Leading internal office process and/or policy development and clarification to support mission objectives 
  • Provides subject matter expertise and guidance to team members and leadership on intricate issues affecting mission outcomes. 
  • Analyzes complex situations and challenges, ensuring that proposed solutions are in alignment with established policies and strategic goals. 

 

 Apply knowledge and understanding of complex issues, policies, and organizational objectives to support mission execution 

  • Leading and performing on special projects to ensure timely delivery of products and services to meet master schedules and program milestones 
  • Interprets and applies complex policies and organizational objectives to daily operations and strategic planning. 
  • Develops strategies and operational plans that effectively translate high-level organizational objectives into actionable tasks. 
  • Monitors the operational environment to ensure ongoing activities remain consistent with organizational policy and mission objectives. 

 

Required/Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Demonstrates flexibility and resourcefulness when faced with evolving challenges and priorities. 
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating executive meeting cadence, preparing leadership materials, and managing operational / governance processes 
  • Demonstrated experience drafting policies (e.g., directives, instructions, manuals, SOPs) for the IC, NGA, DoD, or Federal government 
  • Demonstrated experience designing new processes and documenting improvements to improve office efficiency
